Aleppo soap belongs to one of the oldest soapmaking traditions in the world, shared by Aleppo and its sister city Antioch – today's Antakya – which was part of the province of Aleppo for centuries. Ours is made there, cooked slowly in open kettles and cut by hand, with 40% laurel oil. That's far richer than most Aleppo soap on the market, which usually contains between 2% and 20%.
Laurel oil, pressed from the berries of the bay laurel tree, gives the bar its gentle herbal scent and its traditional character. Blended with food-grade virgin olive oil, it makes a dense, long-lasting bar with a creamy lather that leaves skin feeling soft rather than stripped.
- 40% Laurel Oil: Well above the 2–20% typical of most Aleppo soap. This is our best-selling bar.
- Made in Antakya (Ancient Antioch): Handmade in the traditional kettle method, in the city that has shared the Aleppo soap tradition for centuries.
- Virgin Olive Oil Base: Made with food-grade virgin olive oil and superfatted, so skin is left soft, not tight.
- No Perfume: No fragrance oils or fixatives. The scent comes from the laurel oil alone.
- 100% Vegan & Palm Oil Free: Plant-based, with no animal ingredients.
- Free From: SLS, SLES, sulfates, parabens, silicones, PEG, synthetic preservatives, chemical hardeners and artificial colours.
- Face, Body, Hair & Shaving: One bar for your whole routine, and a traditional shaving soap too.
- Plastic-Free: Wrapped in a breathable jute pouch that biodegrades in soil.
How to use: Lather between wet hands and apply to face, body or scalp, then rinse well. Keep the bar on a draining soap dish between uses. Avoid contact with eyes. As with any new soap, try it on a small patch of skin first.
Reclaim your daily cleansing routine with the timeless craftsmanship and herbal richness of ancient Antioch.
Disclaimer: This artisan soap bar is intended for cosmetic cleansing only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any skin condition.
